Disney Magic Kingdoms

With 115 million players worldwide, Disney Magic Kingdoms brings the happiest place on Earth to mobile gamers - connecting them to their favourite Disney characters in a park of their own.

In this role I had the chance to produce top-quality 2D materials for the game and enhance the brand experience for players. The opportunities provided me great knowledge of how art and design come together to create magical moments.

I've been fortunate to be part of this magical project for 2.5 years with Gameloft until its transition to the Kharkiv studio late June 2024.

Welcome Screens

Welcome screens are featured in-game to promote bundles, event announcements, quality-of-life updates and exciting offers.

Beyond the UI elements like close buttons and CTA buttons, the primary focus was to bring life to these kind of offers to boost sales.

This included bringing in character poses and ensuring they interact seamlessly with their backgrounds, as well as ensuring each individual icon had its own unique opportunity to stand out.

Newsletter
Design

Each launch of an update came new characters, artwork, quests and other visual material that players can review in newsletters.

It was with great pleasure I had assisted in the design highlighting structure and assigning hierarchies to the many elements within the scroll. It was important to provide players an experience to an asset that is usually text-heavy.

Experimental
Type

DMK has a variety of characters and IP's that players have the chance to collect through gacha moments or purchase, helping them progress in-game and fill their collection book.

Using the brand font Passion One, I studied materials and styles to pull and apply to the types surface — this be Disney's promotional content (for said IP) or in-film elements that could be replicated in layer styles, I experimented to change the way players read our font by altering  shape, colour and texture.

Packed in a PSD, I shared the file across our CAT team for use in our static and motion assets across our socials, giving players a more tangible read.

Driving Material

To promote updates, teasers were released across DMK's socials utilizing the custom style treatments above

In combo with DMK's IP backgrounds, we have the chance to bring these styles to life and stamp a visual identity for the update.
